Backup/restore kepubs on glo?

I've got some kepubs on my glo that I cant get the ade-epub version.
I'd like to back them up (just in case). And be able to restore them.

This question could equally be, How does syncing work?
If I have kepubs on the reader that aren't on kobo-desktop will desktop download from the reader (creating a backup)? OR (worse) Will desktop tell the reader to delete the unknown kepubs? I've never used kobo-desktop.

i never used kepubs that much, but i guess you bought them via the kobo-shop?

as far as i know, as long as you've not moved those books into the trash bin, they will automatically sync to your device no matter what.

You might also want to look at Apprentice Alf... His bundle does include a non integrated tool for Kobo DRM.

That is one thing I don't like about Kobo is some of their titles don't have epubs to download.

To answer your question, yes Kobo does allow for syncing on multiple devices.

If you bookmark on your ereader, you can read where you left off on your desktop or android devices. (Provided you have a Wi-Fi connection for syncing).

Backing up kobo ebooks that doesn't have epub is more tricky and more work, but it can be done with obok.

I got a handful of books when I first got the glo over the shops wireless, direct to the glo (I went back a couple of times). Some are public domain some aren't, some are DRM'ed and some aren't.. I haven't connected to the Kobo store from the ereader since (no wireless at home). Been using non-drmed & public domain books; put onto the glo sideways.

Some of those early books aren't in my library on the Kobo web site. Hence the question about backing them up from the reader, or more to the point how to restore them if I need to. Will obok restore them?
Perhaps the shop used there own account to get them? I don't understand the implications of the DRM thing. (and I cant go back to the shop!)

And I don't understand how the multiple libraries work; web, desktop, reader; and what the software does if they don't agree with each other. Are the web library and the reader library subsets of the desktop library? And if I install desktop it will collate a super set of everything on the reader and everything in the web account, (everything kepub related)?

Well, I did have to sync my libraries, and lost the 'mystery' books.

It appears

Web library > desktop library; any extra books in desktop deleted on sync.

Web library (via desktop) > e-reader library. the books are not taken from desktop to the e-reader, but downloaded again for the e-reader (so equal to syncing over WiFi). Again any extra books are deleted.

I did not work out how to backup the e-reader's books.
thanks for pointing me to the apprentice, interesting, but I couldn't work out what the keys on the e-reader are.
