Help to debrick my Kindle Touch
Hi guys,
I need your help to debrick my kindle touch. I don't know what exactly happened with my kindle. I didn't use this device in the last sixth month. The battery was completely empty. If I connect the power supply, the orange LED was on, but it seems, the battery wasn't loaded. Some days later I can't start the device, hard reset wasn't possible, nothing changed on the display. (I tried different USB loader) I removed the battery and loaded with my LyPo loader. After this the kindle started again and everything seems to be ok. But I noticed some things are doesn't run, for example... ... If I delete a book, after a "Reset Device" all books are back although WLAN is off, and the Amazon registration isn't deleted. ... I can't change the system language, after the necessary restart everything is in english. ... The kindle store doesn't run sometimes "Application can't start..." What I've already tried: ... Used fastboot to flash all necessary partitions. => crazy is, if I use the command fastboot setvar bootmode diags the command fastboot getvar bootmode reports main. ... Goto diag mode with mfgtool => device starts in diag mode, but I can't touch any item in the list. I think my memory is in a kind of read only mode. It would be nice, if somebody helps me, before I chuck away my kindle. Thanks |

What is the result(s) of running Kubrick on it (with a fully charged battery).
NOTE: A "fully charged" (full terminal voltage, 4.2v) Li-Ion battery may not have enough storage capacity left to properly flash an image. See: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=237083 (post #3) |

Sorry, I forgot to write.
I tried the current kubrick-k4-k5 BootCD. The result is similar. This means, all steps are ok until the point if the kindle starts new. Instead the diag mode, the device starts in main mode. I started diag mode manually with mfgtool, but the items can not be selected again. |

In Main mode the touch is running fine. I think the device is stucking in diag mode after the items are shown in the display.
At this moment the green led is going of. Shouldn't it be on? |

Green == Battery finished charging (presumed fully charged, but ... ). NOTE: The light (and the battery charger) is operated by firmware. If the firmware is not operating properly, then you have no reason to trust the light. |

Ohhh, of course. Please forget my info about the led. If the Diag mode starts, the USB cable is still connected => LED color is orange. It doesn't go off.

Just leave it alone, and it should change to Green when it stops. After that, you should see the charger cycle Green/Orange as it stops and starts. (that is also reported in one of the logs) It will only "go out" if the USB port that it is charging from "goes to sleep" - which is one reason we recommend using a wall charger. |

Ok, I tried something.
I started the Flash process with fastboot only the led is already green and the Battery is really full. Nothing changed, the kindle stuck in diag mode. Has anybody an idea, what I can try additional? |

Try to re-flash the "main" kernel and the "main" system partition. Which will not fix a corrupted chip, but will fix just about anything else that could be wrong with the "main" system. |

Sorry, I give it up.
I tried to copy the mmcblk0p1-kt-5.0.0.img to my kindle root in usb mode. But the copy process aborted on around 50%. It isn't possible to copy the 358 MB file into the device. (Small files are ok) I think there is a hardware fault. Thanks for your help. |

Try checking the partition and see if something is corrupted with the filesystem.
