Inline TOC loses formatting
If I have additional formatting applied to the Hx that will be in the Inline TOC, the <i>, etc. do not carry over to the TOC file
I can apply them manually, and then they do show in the epub's inline TOC I don't do anything fancy like that very often, but it would be more convenient if I didn't have to try to remember that Thanks Spoiler:

If this works similar to Sigil,
The inline TOC is built from the NCX. You can't use use any styling in the NCX so it is filtered out as it hits the NCX (no longer there). Hand edit (it back) time if you want it in the final inline TOC. ![]() You CAN have a custom TOC stylesheet for the overall L&F |

This is one case where having an extra stylesheet is worthwhile. It would also give you a standardized look and feel...but how important is it to copy the original?
For me not at all. Do I have to ape the typesetter of the original, who was not the author and layout of which only a personage like Churchill ever got any control over? No. |

In this particular case, the TOC generated from a H1 had superscripts as part of the heading, e.g. Z2 = X2 + Y2
Generating the Inline TOC (and I have a special TOC.css) the text looked funny w/o the superscripting Yes, I can always manually apply the formatting, but I didn't understand the process for making the inline TOC Still would be nice |
