WYSIWYG Editing

I use the current editor regularly to fix spelling errors, punctuation, etc, found in ebooks. Often, words are missing because of errors made when a printed book is recreated as an ebook. I would like to be able to edit in wysiwyg mode, as generally, all I am doing is fixing text, not changing html.
If the ebook is in epub format, I often edit with Sigil. Unfortunately, Sigil is no longer being developed, so its shortcomings are not being addressed. But it is a wonderful editing tool otherwise. However, I wonder if it would be possible to invoke Sigil for editing when an epub is to be edited while inside Calibre?
Or, could the current editor could be changed to permit editing in the 'preview' side?

Clicking in the preview pane will synch the Code to the current paragraph.
I think Kovid stated WYSIWYG edits is not going to happen (just too many pitfalls. )

Use the open with calibre plugin if you want to launch sigil (or any specific program) with books in your calibre library.

I have no desire to implement WYSWYG editing, as I have stated before.
