K3: Kindle Keyboard - Frozen Screen
Hello.
My Kindle Keyboard 3G recently needed a screen replacement due to a cracked screen. After replacing the screen and charging, most everything looked good except for some glyphs that were showing here and there on the screen. After reopening the unit and reconnecting the screen, I noticed the screen became frozen and I've been trying to revive it ever since. One thing I've already tried was following the "debricking" steps in K3noobdebrickatk at https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/K3noobdebrickatk. Charging appears to be working fine. I get the orange light while charging and green when fully charged. The green light goes off when unplugged. I also am able to see the device on my Windows computer when plugged into the USB port. When I attempt to turn on the device, the light turns green momentarily but then shuts back off. There is no change to the display since what I've done in the second paragraph. So it seems that I have a hardware failure. Is there a way to troubleshoot which hardware component has failed without getting a spare Kindle and swapping parts out? Please help! Thank you. ![]() |
