Companion Does Not Work on Samsung 10.1 2013
Hey All!
I get communication errors on both my Samsung devices when using Calibre Companion. I get an initial data connection and sync of database data, but I get communication errors when transferring books. I have plenty of free memory space on the Samsung devices. I updated all my versions of Calibre Companion on the tablets and I am using Calibre 1.39 on my PC. Both my Nexus 7 2013 tablets are working fine. TIA for any help. Uncle Eric |

Send a CC debug log from the app (settings / send debug log to multipie). That will help me determine where the problem is happening. When you send the debug log there will be two destination email addresses. Erase the multipie one, which will help us not get confused about who is helping whom.
It could be that I will also need a calibre debug log, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it. |

FWIW, it works great on a Samsung Tab Pro 12.2, so its probably not a general "Samsung Tablet" thing.

Error File Below
Hope this helps,
Uncle Eric Just to clarify, no error shows up on the tablet. The communication error is within Calibre, this error file is from Calibre. I am currently using version 1.40 of Calibre [Errno 10053] An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 86, in run File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 571, in _upload_books File "site-packages\calibre\devices\smart_device_app\driver.p y", line 50, in _synchronizer File "site-packages\calibre\devices\smart_device_app\driver.p y", line 1405, in upload_books File "site-packages\calibre\devices\smart_device_app\driver.p y", line 680, in _put_file File "site-packages\calibre\devices\smart_device_app\driver.p y", line 571, in _send_byte_string error: [Errno 10053] An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine Last edited by estral; 06-13-2014 at 11:54 AM. |

A CC debug log should tell us if CC disconnected (and why), or if CC thinks that calibre disconnected. Could you send me a log? Please make reference to this thread when you send the log so I can know what it is for. We frequently get debug logs out of the sky for no apparent reason. If the latter case where both sides think that the other side went away, we will need to look in other places, such as wifi congestion or your tablet going to sleep and shutting off networking. Or something else. |
