Kindle price changes when I log in
I wanted to buy a book that was discounted to £2.99. Before I logged in the price displayed was £2.99. When I logged in the price was £4.05. I contacted customer support who said this was a technical error and I would only be charged £2.99. I was charged £4.05 and now customer support is issuing a refund as a giftcard. Has anyone had an issue like this before? This is Amazon UK and I'm using Chrome.

I went after a Free book once ... went off sale while logging on. When I contacted CS they too gave me the money back. Happens...be thankful its Amazon! No other store honors sales after they are over!

The sales aren't over. The books are still discounted but when I log in I don't get the discounted price.

Yes. The customer service rep could only see the discounted price so I showed them a screenshot of the incorrect price I was seeing.

That's really weird... the kindle version of that book is showing £9.99 for me regardless of whether I am logged in or not.
What have you done to upset them so much that they want to charge you more for your ebooks

Edit: just noticed that your location is Ireland, something to do with that maybe once you're logged in?

The first three books now have the correct price when I'm logged in. It seems like a temporary issue when discounts are applied.

This happens to me all the time - price increases once I log in. I guess this is because of taxes are different in different countries....or am I wrong?

For me the price increase is quite significant, e.g. $7.05 vs $11.99 for Into The Wild (Jon Krakauer).

As many books are being $2 more expensive for me to buy, sometimes after I log in, the real price appears. Even though my IP is the same, Amazon sometimes is showing the pre "add $2" dollars to me before I log in.
