Interface question: Disable Edit unless F2 is pressed

I have 2 huge libraries, on normal SATA HDD (7200 rpm). i do not have any SDD on my system.

I noticed when I try to select a book and then click E (to edit it's metadata) or even V (to view the book) sometimes, The field I clicked on the book gets replaced by E or V.

I would like to disable the feature to edit book metadata when clicking on a book's field or at least increase it's delay to 30 seconds or more, what would have the same practical effect.

Is this possible to do?

Thank you very much! I changed to:

doubleclick_on_library_view = 'edit_metadata'

horizontal_scrolling_per_column = False

Calibre now works perfectly to my needs, with a bonus, double click on a book to edit it's medatadata
