Reading Rainbow was way after my time but I jumped in on the Kickstarter campaign yesterday. I'm all for anything that promotes reading.

It's incredible how quickly this is being funded. The counter is still very active and at the moment of my post it was at:

George Takei promoted it and he has many Facebook fans. And there are a lot of us of a certain age who remember the show fondly.

And his G+ fans as well....I remember Reading Rainbow from when I was little. I loved it!!!! I didn't have issues reading, but it was fun. It was on TV and they had clips in newspapers (IIRC). Made me feel like a big girl to have something for me in a newspaper

They had a period where they were encouraging younger children to share what they learned to help some seniors that had never learned. It was supposed to help the child with confidence and the senior with intimidation/embarrassment issues I think. I thought it was great and think that its great what they are trying to do now!

I enjoyed RR, and think Geordi LaForge will continue to do a good job with it.
I hope they pull off the revival. Perhaps it'll be MY $5 that put them over the top!

A cause worthy of a $20 pledge. Any bets on the final number? I can see it going over $10 million, but how much more?

I'm pretty sure they'll hit five, and really hope that they'll hit ten. Huge props to Mr. Burton for doing this.
