Failure to find metadata for any book with Ctrl D function

I think this problem started when I upgraded to Calibre 1.33. Whenever I try to download metadata from online sources (B&N, Amazon etc.) I get the "Error: No matches found" dialogue; the printout of the failure reads:

Running identify query with parameters:

Can anyone advise how to fix this problem? I use Windows 7 64bit, Firefox 29.0 & Calibre 1.33

That log suggests the firewall software on your machine is blocking Calibre from accessing the internet. That is the normal cause of the 'target machine actively refused it' type error messages.

Or your antivirus has decided that calibre is evil.
