Kobo Touch Extended: replace language?

What does the option "replace content language code" do? By what does it replace the content language code?

I'm asking because I suddenly had a book in which the Kobo reader incorrectly identified the language as Dutch (the book was in English), so I had a hard time using the dictionary.

I'm wondering if a recent change in the plugin may have caused this for the most recent books I've loaded onto the device, and if checking this option might remedy it.

If not, are there other ways to make sure the reader correctly identifies the language? (Other than by diving into the css or the code of the epub itself, which I'm not familiar with and I'd rather not do on a book by book basis.)

It will do two things, but you have to set the language of your books first.

First, it will set the language code of the OPF file (a very important internal metadata file) to the book's language code. Specifically, it updates (or creates, if needed) nodes matched by the XPath expression //opf:metadata/dc:language

Second, it takes every internal content file and adds the 'lang' and 'xml:lang' attributes to the <html> tag.

This was primarily done to address issues with hyphenation when the book's language isn't properly defined. I'm not sure what effect it has on standard dictionaries. I'd say give it a try though, the worse that'll happen is your books still won't use the right dictionary for definitions.
