I just got an email from Kobo. They really want to understand me better and my Kobo reading experience, so they invited me to fill out a survey at SurveyMonkey.
Well, I'd like to be a good customer, so I went there -- but, due to the design of their form, I could not get past the second question. So, they won't understand me better, after all. The first question asks me which devices I currently own and says I should check all that apply. The options were Apple Product (i.e. iPad), Android Tablet, Kobo eReader, Kobo Tablet, Smartphone, and "Other." There were buttons to click for the first five options -- I clicked off Android Tablet and Smartphone. There was no button for "Other" -- just a field to fill in. I typed in "JetBook Lite." The second question asks me which is my primary device for ereading, and specifically says to choose only one. Once again, the options were Apple Product (i.e. iPad), Android Tablet, Kobo eReader, Kobo Tablet, Smartphone, and "Other." Once again, there were buttons to click for the first five options and no button for "Other" -- just a field to fill in. I typed in "JetBook Lite," because that's what I do most of my reading on. No good. The survey won't accept that. Apparently the survey will only read a checked box as an answer, not the filled-in field for "Other." So, while you can choose only one, "Other" is not a valid choice. I don't think they meant it to work that way. Anyway, I gave up. |

I had the same experience. It's one major disaster of a survey.

Agreed about the second question. I gave an untruthful answer just to get to the end of the survey, hoping for some sort of discount coupon for magazines. Major disappointment at the end

At least a coupon, or entry in a drawing. I do not work for their marketing department. I have already (presumably) given them money to buy their product or service. If they want my time to help them run their company, pay me. Not just talking about Kobo, any company. The exceptions include times when I have something I really want to communicate, good or bad, or if it's a really good cause. ApK |

I sometimes do -- mostly to highlight the fact that there are 3rd party ereaders out there.
Of course, that didn't work this time. |

Sounds like they didn't test the form properly.

Glad I read this thread before wasting my time with the survey - and I was going to complete it too. Thanks.
