Cool Deleting a collection on Kobo Aura HD

Hi folks. Thanks for the great forums. Came for the coupons, stayed for the forum discussions.

I have a new Kobo Aura HD (just a week or two) and I have a question about collections (not using Calibre yet so collections were created directly on the ereader).

I want to delete a collection that I no longer need. I have removed all the books from it, and added them to new collections (I like making lists!) and now I want to get rid of the empty collection, but I can't quite figure out how. I've read the manual, and I've clicked (pressed?) around and there doesn't seem to be such an option.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

With me it's on the My collections view in the Library.

Tap and hold on a collection and I get the option to Manage / Rename or Delete the collection.

Hmmm, I only have "Manage" when I press on the down arrow next to the name. I'm thinking maybe it's time to use Calibre (though I don't know enough about it to know if collections can be removed from there).

Thanks Peter

On reflection, I'm thinking something is a bit buggy. On the thread about the Firmware 3.2.0 update, I see that some people are missing the Sort option for Collections. I never even knew there was such an option, and I definitely do not have it, only the icon with the three lines. I'm guessing something went wrong with the update. I'm going to give the fix a try this evening and see what happens.

The thread I am referring to.

Down arrow next to the name? Where are you seeing that?

A collection can be deleted from the "My Collections" list. Long press on the shelf and a menu is displayed. The last item is "Delete".

You can maintain collections from calibre. There is a sticky post to read about how to configure it.

Ah yes. I see where I went wrong. I did not press long enough. Thanks davidfor.

I still don't have the sort function it seems we are supposed to have, so I'll work on that this evening.
