Chapter problem on Kobo kepub book

I have encountered a weird problem with a new book I bought from Kobo (in kepub format). Before I send Kobo Support an email requesting assistance which will no doubt be answered with "Perform a soft reset and try again...", I thought I'd see if anyone here has figured this one out.

The issue is that once I get to the end of a chapter and turn a page, the next chapter doesn't appear. Instead, I am taken back to the Table of Contents. I am only seeing this on this recent book, not on all books so I would suspect it is something in the compiling of the kepub, not the OS. I am also encountering the same issue when I get to an illustration in the book except it jumps back to the table of illustrations rather than the table of contents. I have tried removing the book and re-downloading it with the same results.

Anyone else seen this? Any solutions (other than contacting Kobo Support)? If no one has a solution, what is the best way to get Kobo to look into an issue rather than tell me to performa soft reset over and over again?

The book is: Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson
eReader: Kobo Glo
OS Version: 3.2.0

Does Kobo offer an ADE epub download of the book? You could maybe try that to see whether it suffers from the same issue.

How did you turn the page? By swiping or tapping?
Maybe there are some hidden links there so that when you tap it, it sends you to the table of contents (and figures).

They do have the Adobe DRM. I'll try that and see if it has the same problem.
