Download Metadata problem after upgrade

Yesterday I installed the 1.30 upgrade. Immediately after, I am unable to download metadata on any book imported to the library. No error message, the dots simply continue their procession indefinitely. Comments?

I am running Calibre 64 bit ( also has the same difficulty with 32 bit ) on Windows 7.

Did you tell your firewall software to let the new version of Calibre through? Most firewall software tends to treat updates as if it was a new program.
