I have been trying to use the ebook-device command to copy files to my kindle from the cli.
ebook-device info returns Code:
Device name: Amazon Kindle Device version: Software version: Mime type: ebook-device cp myEbook.mobi /documents/ the command does nothing. The helpfile states: Quote:
Code:
ebook-device cp myEbook.mobi Amazon\ Kindle:/documents/ So, what am I missing? Last edited by elementz; 04-04-2014 at 09:13 AM. Reason: grammar |

Nope, ebook-device cp ebook.mobi dev:/documents/ does not work, neither with the kindle mounted to /media/Kindle nor with the kindle not mounted to the fs at all.
Does ebook-device expect the Kindle to be mounted to the fs? If I need to still manually (or via fstab) mount the kindle myself, I don't really understand the use-case of the ebook-reader cp command in the first place, since I could simply mount the device and then cp the files over... My hope was that ebook-device automagically recognizes the kindle when attached, which would make the command a great tool in conjunction with scripts...
