upgrade to 1.29.0 won't start

just upgrade to 1.29.0, and now will not start. 1.28.* did, as of yesterday

From the command line I get this error;

calibre

ValueError: bad marshal data (string ref out of range)

I've attempted to remove the calibre folder, to see if any of the plugins were the problem.

Same error

Uninstall, delete C:\\Program Files\\Calibre2
(or wherever you chose to install calibre). Then re-install. And
dont worry, uninstalling will not affect your books/settings.

{solved}

have to computers basically setup the with the same distro of Debian testing amd64.

I pulled a total list of what was installed on the working computer, and imported that list to the non-working computer, and installed a bunch of other "stuff".

Seems to open as normal now.

to get the complete list of installed programs, I ran from the terminal;

sudo dpkg --get-selections >/Desktop/installed.txt

and on the non working computer, from within synaptic, I read the that file into synaptic amd installed the "missing" files
