forms with fixed text fields

Hello,
I need to create a set of forms, with fixed layout,
I need to handle the forms with my program (java) print them, track what the user is editing in the fields, help the user with autocompletion etc...

the layout should be fixed, that means if the user insert more text that the field supports the font should shrink for the text to fit inside the field and NOT for the field to increase in size.

I know that pdf supports these type of fields, but I coudn't find if EPUB supports this.
(I am in the process of choosing the forms format)

could someone give me a hint on how to find out if EPUB supports tese type of fields?

It would be helpful to know what kind of device you anticipate to use this.

This is a typical usecase for PDF. You *might* be able to do it in ePUB3, but support will be a major issue in that case.

I agree... plus you would never be able to control which devices the users open these EPUBs on.

I would say EPUB is definitely not the correct tool for this specific job you are trying to accomplish.

It might be best done as an app.
