Jailbreak for adding opendyslexic fonts

Hi

I bought a PW2 with latest fw for my son, expecting to easily add opendyslexic fonts by way of the workaround I'd read about, not realising that the easy w/around (USE_ALT_FONTS trick) works only for the PW1.

So my question is, do I need KUAL for this, and in which case follow the Sticky, or do I need to just jailbreak it and install the font hack ? Or do I need the fonts override Kual menu and if so, the python package too, as well as KUAL?

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction

Thanks all

Timos

Yes, for user-friendly font override configuration you need Kual. So do it like this:

1) install jailbreak
2) install MKK
3) Copy Kual azw2 file
4) install python package
5) install font hack
6) Copy your custom font files

Than you can use KUAL font submenu to set up font override.

@fendesa: When you install fonts hack you get folder "linkfonts" on your Kindle, and inside that folder you have "fonts" folder. Copy your custom font files to that "fonts" folder.

Assuming that I have successfully installed the fonts, does the above process have any side effects on the device's battery life?

Marginally, and it can go both ways.

(TL;DR: don't sweat it.)
