I want to distribute ebooks I create to multiple readers
I am looking for a tool that will allow me to freely distribute ebooks that I create to multiple format readers. It looks to me like I cannot do this with calibre. Suggestions?

Set up a web server, with a link to download the book. Or, just email it as an attachment to interested people.

If you don't want to set up your own server look at Smashwords or Feedbooks as possible solutions.

Another alternative to setting up your own server would be putting them in a "public" folder on a cloud service like Dropbox or any of the others. You would just have to post links to the folder or the individual files wherever you are going to publicize your offerings. If you were popular enough I imagine there are download limitations depending on the service you choose.

Such a cute Avatar - Anaemic Oak. I was going to say email an attachment or Smashwords. It's infuriating that in the UK an author is unable to gift books via Amazon. |

All of my fellow Mobile read members have made very good suggestions however they are focusing on one aspect of the distribution process and I would like to focus on a different aspect of the distribution then other forum members are.
I would like to recommend that you obtain a free software package called Calibre (calibre-ebooks.com). The software can translate your source file to any of a wide variety of different formats. My recommendation is to market the epub, (covers 75% of ereaders) and AZW3 (covers 20% of the remainders, 95% are now included). |
