iLiad 1st Editions on eBay

A number of iLiad 1st Edition readers are being sold on eBay. Does anyone know of any reason not to buy one and upgrade? If this question has already been asked and my (admittedly brief) search has missed it would someone please point me gently in the proper direction and everyone else accept my apologies.
