This instruction doesn't work for me. I am using Calibre 1.25. I could follow your instructions until here.

However, there was no template field to be seen. I tried the "template functions" but didn't get anywhere with that.

To create a Formats column go to Preferences - Add your own column - click on Green cross - click on Formats - click OK - click Apply.
