Onyx C65support request

Hi,

so my first post.

I just got myself an Onyx C65 Afterglow and I've found some irregularities:
* some pdfs and epubs do not open with Onyx Reader (but do work fine in FBReader and Cool Reader). They exit with the message "Fail file open".
* Cool Reader's "Tap configureation" doesn't work: you cannot override the defaults from Boox. e.g. when I configure the middle top grid to go to night mode, I just get the boox default menu.
* library management: this is more a feature request. I would like to organize my books in shelves, so the scientific literature does not mix with the novels I'm reading.

My question now is: where do I post bug reports/feature reqeusts or how do I contact someone from Boox?
I have already tried to use their webform ( https://onyx-boox.com/support/ ) and I have sent them a tweet, but no response.

Second question. With the linux versions of the boox, there is a github repository ( https://github.com/onyx-intl/ ) . Is there any such thing for the android based ereaders? If I delve into the code I might be able to fix something

Hi,

In Europe you can't contact someone from Boox. You have only some vendors. Your site is know as the "polish" site, they maid some firmware. An other vendor is http://ereader-store.eu/ (in maintenance at this instant) which provide the firmwares available in this forum via Booxtor, Booxtor has work closely with Onyx International, the Chinese manufacturer, to provide the firmwares.

If you bought your device in the polish site, you can try to post in their forum. But a good place is here. Someone called "Zeng" seems very close of Onyx International.

In the manufacturer's website : http://www.onyx-international.com.cn/en/ and despite the time that this takes reader on the market, yet it has not even released the latest generic firmware.

And the support of dealers cited is limited by that of the manufacturer.

What is happening to you , confirmed that some members of this forum discussed at the time :
Onyx has implemented an Android distribution on its new players to save the carrier and that the den Android programmers , whether commercial , or individuals who want to contribute selflessly to improve it.

Likewise, his silence and inaction in months , confirms dropping support for earlier Linux -based readers and solve many outstanding bugs .
Where is the Android firmware that was promised , long time for the M92 and Firefly ago ... ?
Personally I am losing confidence in this brand.

I do not intend to lose hope with my comment, but if I were you, would exercise my right to withdrawal and would return the reader that you've encountered so many bugs .

Regards - .

Yeah, as far as I can tell, Zeng might be one of the linux developers: https://github.com/zengzhu

I wrote this person an email, maybe something will come from it

I'm gonna stick by the reader for a while, mostly as any reader will have its quirks. I've been reading reviews of Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD, Sony T3, Cybook Oddyssey HD Frontlight, Icarus Illumina HD, ... and every single one has something that could be .. better I eventually went for the Onyx C65 because you could install apps (ereaders, pdf readers, browser, rss reader, ...) without jailbreaking it.
Maybe I should've bought the Cybook instead. Any thoughts?
