Usually an ISO is a (master) image used to burn or restore a full disc.
I think, that was what was expected. Burn a disc, then use the files.

Some programs like WinRAR, Nero provide utilities to navigate within a ISO (it being a form of archive).

7zip and Peazip will let you browse & unpack ISO archives, unlike WinRAR they're free (not as good tho' - IMO of course), I think both do Linux and Portable, but maybe not OS/X. Peazip also does ReactOS...

If you press 'v', select ISO, and hit enter then whatever your OS has registered for dealing with ISO's should spring into life

no, i don't want to burn it, i just want to have a plugins (if possible ) to add "Mount ISO file" when i do right click in calibre for ISO file

currently what i am doing is
Open Calibre -- Select the file - Right click - select open file location (this step will open windows explorer -- and then right click again -- select menu mount iso file (in windows 8)

what i am expecting is
Open Calibre -- select the file -- right click -- (if this iso file) then click menu mount iso

No
V in calibre is View

You need some program that Mounts the ISO as a virtual CD drive:
Microsoft has a utility for Windows: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=38780

You set the drive up, then you should be able to use it, just like any other source.

sort of

First make sure you have something associated with the .iso files. On Win 7 its at Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations

After you open calibre, select the book that has the ISO in the book list, then press "v", and then select 'ISO' from the list of formats?

Or, this is easier - single left click the ISO in the Book Details Formats

The ISO should open in the Associated program. Its then up to you to deal with the ISO contents. That's the full extent of what calibre can do with an ISO - store it in the library, and open it via the Associated program.

If you don't want to leave the book details pane open you should be able to use the Open With plugin to mount the iso with a right click on any book.
