No more pictures in html conversion wince update 1.24 !!

Hello,

I have been using calibre to convert html pages ton epub ; it worked like a charm until the last release, 1.24 : my epub does not have pictures any longer ! A friend of me have the same problem since the update...

Please help, I use this feature a lot, this is really ennoying

Thx !

Here an example of what I am trying to convert. Until today, here was the procedure : I added the html file to calibre, then I clicked on "convert", and it converted to epub.

You can find the files here attached.

The problem seems to be before the conversion : when importing the html file, the pictures are not imported in the calibre directory...

Submit a bug report as outlined in step 1 of this sticky post: How to ask a question about conversion problems.

ok, I will.

How can I install a previous version of calibre for the moment, in order to hace this feature back ? I really need it and I'm afraid to have to wait a long long time before my bug is taken into account and fixed...

I'm not familiar with Linux so I am unsure how to revert to the previous version.

If your cookies are enabled I'm at a loss. Try another browser.

The bug was rejected, so I will post here an example of what I am trying to convert.

Until today, here was the procedure : I added the html file to calibre, then I clicked on "convert", and it converted to epub.

You can find the filee attached to the first post.

Ok, after few investigations, it seems that the problem seems to be *before* the conversion : when importing the html file, the pictures are not imported in the calibre directory... whereas before, the pictures where imported in calibre, I can remember that.

I looked at your bug report and you did not attach the file to the bug report. This is critical if you want to report a bug.

Is the file you attached to the first post before it is added to calibre? Because if it is the images do not work as is on my computer.

Well, as the bug was unconfirmed and I was told this is not a bug, I thought this is useless...

He referred you to the link I referred you to on how to ask for help. Step 1 said to attach the file to the bug report.

No pictures show up in the browser. I can't test something that does not work before it is even submitted to calibre.

Your problem is caused by the curly apostrophe U+2019 in the file names. And this problem has existed on all versions of calibre, which I have now fixed: https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr...7338be1fa879c3

Really ? Damn, conversion of my Mediapart articles had been working for a long long time, that's really strange. Maybe this is juste a coincidence and maybe they started to use curly apostrophe few days ago, more or less at the same moment that calibre 1.24 was out !...

Anyway, thanks a lot for your fix !

Kind regards.

You dont have to take my word for it, look at the history of the file in question: https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibr.../html/input.py

The last change was over a month ago and had nothing to do with this, and the change before that was over a year ago and again had nothing to do with this.

Sure I take your words for it, I never told I don't believe you ! As I said, the only explanation I see is that my online journal changed the source code oh his article few days ago, close to the update to 1.24.
