5-inch Frontlit Reader?

I have a Kobo Mini, which I carry all the time with me. Its only problem is that it doesn't have a frontlight built-in, as such I have to use the Aura HD for night readings.

Are there any rumors about an upcoming 5" reader with frontlight? An Aura Mini would be really great

No rumors. Many of us wish for such a device. But so far, no luck.

The 5" illuminated device market has basically been overtaken by Smartphones, just as the large-screen market has been by tablets.

I would get a phone for reading if I could find one with the 4:3 ratio, but they are all much too narrow, for my taste, unless I am mistaken.

LG makes a 5 inch 4:3 smartphone (the LG Optimus Vu)

I read on reflective displays. If they disappear, I'll switch to audiobooks.

That Optimus Vu looks nice.

That said, I'd LOVE to have a 5" front-lit reader. I've considered the Kobo Mini many times, but the lack of light has prevented me from getting one.

Actually, a 4.5" version would be even better for portability, yet still big enough to read on.

I read a few books on my old HTC phone with a 2.8" display a couple of years ago. I found in landscape it wasn't unreasonably narrow, but the pages were about paragraph short...

I'm spoiled by e-ink now, don't know that I'd be very happy even trying to read a book on my 8" tablet or 4.3“ phone these days.

Oh yeah, I was most definitely thinking e-ink in my comments above... I'd love an extremely portable e-ink reader, not much bigger than my cell phone, but it does need to be front lit, I'm spoiled by the lighting on my Paperwhite.
