File Preview not working
For no reason at all that I can tell, the file preview window will just stop working sometimes.

It refuses to preview certain files, but will preview other files; I have no idea why.

Try detaching the Preview. You may have collapsed the view box too far

(I always run detached as I have a multi-head system and that works)

No, but it will either stay broken or start displaying the last file that worked, as far as I can make out. Note the mismatch in the screenshot.

I have not triggered that.
I did have a file refuse to split: 3 Green Lines
(W7 64bit with 1.22)

If you have a long, poorly formed file, it will appear to not function as the preview window is trying to make heads or tails of the junky code.

That is a virtue of keeping the code well formed all the time. But we are all aware of the other lacks of virtue in doing so.

Yep, I know -- good thing it is 1 chapter per file, Check book has been run (font mimetypes are bad, but that's all right, my goal is to toss them altogether ) and beautify all files.

@escwhartz: If you have a file that reliably reproduces it open a bug report with it. You may also get some useful erro messages if you run the editor in debug mode in a console using

calibre-debug -t file.epub

I will be running the editor in debug mode from now on, hopefully I will find something useful. But the error doesn't seem to be in the book, as I cannot replicate it reliably. The book(s) usually starts working properly after I close and reopen the editor. I will report back if I can get anything more useful.

That can happen sometimes if the preview panle is in the process of being refreshed while the editor is shuttng down. It should not happen during normal usage however.

Well, it's listed before the reference to subsetting a bunch of fonts, so it definitely wasn't being shut down.
