Missing cover when reading metadata from file name

Hi all

,

I am trying to import some PDF files that have no author in the file name, just the title and a date. So I would like to get the whole file name in the title field.
For that purpose, I changed the import setting to read metadata from file name instead of content.
It works fine for file names, but when doing this, Calibre does not generate the cover from the first page of the PDF file as it does with normal settings

So, two questions :
- Is there a way to prevent that behavior ?
- How can I regenerate the cover from the first page of the PDF file *after* the import has been done ?

Use the bulk metadata edit dialog to automatically read the cover from all the imported files after you are done importing.

By the way, I have some pdf files from which Calibre seems to be unable to extract the first page as a cover. It just shows no cover.
Do you know why this appens ?
