copy text to computer clipboard

I'd be a nice feature if a person could copy raw text from the file preview window to the computer's clipboard.

I seem to be able to with CTRL-C.

ETA: Nevermimd, It isn't copying raw text. My mistake.

No problem. It does copy text but retains the formatting. It may not matter depending on where you paste it.

It might be handy to have a: 'Copy with Tags Stripped' which would work in code view

I do, but maybe because I pasted it into a notepad window. Anyway, it does what I wanted,

That is pretty standard for windows. The copy buffer contains both the raw text and the formatted text and pastes what the recipient can understand. I suspect this one is HTML but some other copies can be in RTF (That is what Internet explorer copies to the buffer).

Search for Clipboard Scrubber/Cleaner etc. For Windows I use one called Clipboard Fusion - the free version works fine for me. Its tray application, it works on anything in the clipboard. Pure Text is another (simpler) tool, again its a tray application

On OS/X Flyout is popular

When I did the research and spec'd the feature that added this "Copy Special" functionality to Macromedia FreeHand over a decade ago, it seemed to be unique. It still is a rarely seen function. The common "standard" Windows feature is "Paste Special..." which leaves it up to the app doing the paste to provide the user with a choice of paste format.

Excel has a 'Paste Special, Values' feature.

Maybe sometime when Kovid is bored, he could add a Shift+Control+C to paste in the clipboard raw text and without <tags> ... </tags>

Actually I would like to see a smarter paste. One that left out paragraph formatting stuff but kept italics and bolding (simple character stuff) to preserve the authors emphasis.
