List of default settings with explanations?

Post deleted. Learned something that obviated the need: in Preferences user can restore defaults, to see what they are, without having to actually apply those restored defaults, just click Cancel instead of Apply. I hadn't realized the restored defaults could be canceled. Everyone who read the original post, sorry I wasted your time.
