converting PDF magazine to ePub format

I´m starting a project in converting PDFs magazines to ePub format, I´ve made some research and found out some different tools to help you with the task, but none seems to work as I would hope to.

Calibre for example does the job but once its finished all the pictures and graphics are all over, others suggest start from scratch recreating all the content something that it will not work me since that would be creating 600 pages.

I don´t have a layout in any other format, for example inDesign or others, what I have is PDFs.

Is there any way to learn how to convert it? are there any step by step instructions in how someone already did this?

Thank you in advance

Maybe you don't need to convert pdfs to epub, but just optimize pdf for 6" reader using k2pdfopt, if layout is not too complicated.

Once optimized it is not a big deal to convert it to epub.

You can also ask for some help in author's thread, after you learn the basics of optimization with k2pdfopt.

There is PdfMasher, but I have never used it.

If you don't use optimization and really want to convert it, you basically have no choice but to do it all by hand, since PDF fundamentally doesn't have the information necessary to auto-convert and keep the format. (I believe there is an ongoing project -- as in years-old and still massively flawed -- to improve how to read PDF formatting.)

A good place to start learning about the problems -- and some solutions -- is here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=118605

But after reading it you will probably want to stick with k2pdfopt.
