How to install newest version of Calibre to FreeBSD?
I have installed some version by pkg_add calibre -r, all ok.
But installed version is very old, I don't remember version, but it have not support for Kindle Paperwhite. Ok, then I download source code, open INSTALL and read: "calibre supports installation from source, only on Linux. " How to install new version under FreeBSD?

To use the source in development mode, download the source code, and set the environment variable CALIBRE_DEVELOP_FROM to the absolute path of the calibre source code directory.
Described at: http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/develop.html It will use the installed old version to start calibre, but run the code of the later, source download. |
