Rest Reminder
Hi all, new user to Kobo (Glo), would like to ask if it is possible to tweak the device so it has an option to pop up a reminder every x minute to tell me to take a rest from reading too long? Not sure if this is too much of an ask for such a device, thanks!

I think no. You must have access to the API of the Kobo GUI interface (nickel), and you have not, it's proprietary and closed source.
I think you can create a Qt application that sleeps nickel, launch itself and wake up nickel at its exit, as Kobolauncher does. But I have no idea how to time reading. You can install Debian on Kobo and create your own reminder program: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=222123 Last edited by Lucas Malor; 01-03-2014 at 01:14 PM. |
