Kobo goo line-height issues

Hi there!
I am reading in this forum since years and always found good tips and advice to my problems.
But now I am stuck with a problem and nothing seems to help:
Conversion of an ebook with calibre, line height issues.
When is strip the line-height property in calibre the line hight is displayed much too big on my kobo glo. Even turning the line-height slider totally down to the left displays a line-height of at least 150%]
When I edit the css in the epub and add a line-height property [for example: line.height: 100%] I can't adjust the line-height on my kobo anymore... and that's what i want to achieve...

what am I doing wrong???

any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance and greetings from germany // Torsten

In recent firmware there is a problem with the line spacing of the Kobo Nickel font, so if you are using that font then probably best to try a different one.

Another issue is with books that set the base font size smaller than 1em/100%/medium. The smaller the base font size, the wider the line spacing will be. There is a scale fonts option in Calibre that might fix this if you are converting a book.

However the main issue is that Kobo have chosen line spacing values that are simply too large. The scale on the line spacing slider goes from 1.0 to 3.0, but even 1.0 corresponds to a line height of about 1.3em for a base font size of 1em, which is wider than the 1.2em set in most books.

If the line spacing is too wide on the minimum setting and you want it to remain adjustable, then the only real solution is to apply the custom line spacing firmware patch. See the Kobo Patcher thread in the developer's subforum. This patch will let you change the values on the line spacing slider to any set of values you choose.

Hi GeoffR!
Thanks for your fast answer and support!
I checked it out and it seems to be the "Kobo-Nickel-Problem"

nevertheless I will cheek out the patch thread as well, sounds as if it could help me as well!
Thanks again and greetings to KIWI-Land

I'd like to mention that the line spacing became too wide after upgrading to 2.10. So I went back to 2.8 for the time being, and it's OK again.
