Controlling News Downloads

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with the Calibre news downloads which is very, very, very irritating. Every time I start Calibre it runs the news downloads. This interrupts anything I try to do in Calibre until the news download is finished. I can't find where to turn off the automatic news downloads, while still keeping the list of scheduled downloads.

Just to be clear, I want to
1) Keep my list of news sources for easy downloading, and
2) Only download them when I click the Get All Scheduled News button.

I don't want to have to go through the list of news sources and have to select and download each one all the time, I just want a way to download my preferred news sources on demand instead of when Calibre starts up.

How can I do this?

Set the schedule for each source to once in 365 days. And since news downlaods in the background I dont see how it interrupts anything.

Every time a source finishes downloading, it pops up on the library list and I get kicked out of whatever I'm doing. Example: I'm editing a title when a news source finishes downloading. That news download is added to the list of books and that bumps me out of the title edit. I lose my changes to the title, and sometimes even lose where I was in the list of books and have to scroll around to get back to the book I was trying to edit.

It's mostly background downloading, but the part where it's not background at all can be very, very annoying.
