Editing Metadata in Bulk Safely
Hello again,
Is there a safe way to clear the comments field on every book in the library? I haven't tried anything yet because I'm afraid I'll ruin the entire thing. Thanks in advance! |

Select all books, click edit metadata, and all the way on the bottom is the option "Set the comments for all selected books." Click that, leave the resulting field blank, click okay, notice how the original button "Set the comments for all selected books." is bolded and has an asterisk. Save the metadata changes and there you are.
If you use this field and ONLY this field, it will only change the comments, and all other fields will be told "no change" |

Or just make a copy of your calibre library folder as a backup. Then you can experiment and fail, and just restore the library and try again. As many times as you wish.
