ARCs for publicity?

I had this nice campaign all planned out for my next fairy tale collection, Fairies and Fireflies. Text finalized by Nov 15, Cover and artwork done by Nov 15, spend the next 2 weeks doing layout and design for kindle and paper, and go live with both on Dec 1. Start a Netgalley, GoodReads, and librarything giveaways Dec 1 to get reviews.

Now it appears I'll be having abdominal surgery on Nov 11, with a pretty solid 2 weeks minimum of recovery time.

Can I do my giveaways with unillustrated ARCs? or should I push everythng back to January? I did so want to catch the Christmas rush, at least with the paper version. I should add that my first collection, Dragons and Dreams, is unillustrated.

Advice? suggestions? comments?

I don't think it matters really Becca. Especially as your 1st collection was unillustrated. I hope your surgery goes well.

I'm letting all my neuroticism about the operation splash over into my concerns about the book. I guess having an unillustrated ARC for my give-aways should be ok.

Thanks, VydorScope. I'm a little nervous about it, and the timing is making me put everything on hold (not just the writing) - it's a royal pain.

Being nervous before surgery is normal Becca. I'm sure that there are a lot of people here at MR who will have you in their thoughts & prayers though.
