use Kobo Touch as a internet browser?

The salesman told me I could use my kobo touch as an internet browser,
only later to discover that it's rigged to www.kobo.com as permanent default.

Is there a way to get rid of www.kobo.com as I don't buy books, I mean
can I type any site in the url and just use it as a internet browser?

Oh that's great. I'll look for that once I get my kobo touch up and running again.

Odd, both my Mini and Touch always open to Google when launching the browser. I am not sure if it is possible to change the default page, however you can add bookmarks and store them in "favourites list". Kobo's own website isn't really optimized for viewing on a small device like a smartphone, or a really light hardware like the touch. It does display but you have to do a good deal of scrolling.
