Virtual Library and Dropbox - Only Sync my News (recipe) eBooks?
Finally getting around to playing with the built-in content server and virtual libraries. It seems like it will meet my needs pretty well. I actually have a bunch of ebooks that I have never gotten around to adding to Calibre - I've only been using it for a news/recipe puller-downer.
One problem that I have, however, is how this will disrupt my dropbox solution. I currently have all of my of my ebooks (which is only ebooks from recipes) syncing to dropbox and then my Nook syncing the entire Calibre directory via Dropsync. This works awesome. However, I think Calibre intersperses all content together as far as the folder structure is concerned, correct? Is there a way to separate out the books that the news recipes create from all of the other content? I.e. have the news epubs go to one directory and all others go to another directory? Any ideas on how I would be able to get this to work? Or am I probably looking at separate physical libraries instead of one big library with virtual? Thanks |

You know, I might be in luck. It appears that the top-level folder that calibre uses when adding books is the author's last name. Since all recipes have "calibre" as the author all of the files are conveniently in one folder for me!
That means I just have to sync to that folder on my Nook and all of those files will continue to be segregated. Sweet! |

@spedinfargo-
Remember, if you have your Calibre library residing in your DropBox folder on your computer, be sure to pause your computer synch to the DropBox cloud whenever you are using that library with Calibre. (I never noticed that recipes have Calibre as the author...thanks for pointing that out!) |
