Calibre no longer recognizes Aura HD
It's been a while since the twain have met, and something isn't cooperating.
My iMac, OSX 10.8.5, mounts the Aura HD just fine. Calibre isn't recognizing it at all. I've rebooted the iMac. I just updated Calibre to 1.5.0. Still no dice. I tries resetting the Kobo. Nada. I did a Factory Reset on the Kobo, still no Calibre love. Calibre is still working just fine with my Kindles. I'm using the same USB cord for the Kindles and for the Kobo, as I have always done previously. I am at a loss as to what to try next. |

Once the OS has recognized a device it is there for programs to find. If calibre is not finding it it's something that calibre will need to fix. You might have a better chance for a correction in the calibre forum.

Calibre 1.5.0 definitely supports the Aura HD and the released firmware versions.
So, what does calibre do when you plug the Aura HD in? Are there any errors? The most likely thing I can think of is that the driver has been disabled. Or that it was disable to use the extended driver and you have uninstalled or disabled it. Can you check the plugin list in preferences and make sure that the "KoboTouch" driver is enabled. Or the extended driver if you want to use that. If the driver is enabled, run the device detection. This is on the miscellaneous page of the preferences. Open the page, connect the device, and press the "Debug device detection" button. Then post the output of that. Another possibility is that the device is being mounted read only. I have had a few reports of this for Macs. From memory, if this is the case, calibre displays an error when opening the database on the device. |

Are there any other USB devices attached (iPods / I phones / tablets) at the same time? This will stop calibre finding any ereaders.
