editing metadata download

Hello everbody

I am new here and absolutely impressed by calibre.
But I have a question regarding metadata download.
Is it in anyway possible to edit the metadata-download-fields?
For example: It would be great to download the number of pagens of a book by downloading metadata via ISBN-search.

@vanitas80 - you can configure what metadata gets dowloaded from what sources see attachment for where you do that

Each download source requires a plugin, for widely used sources these plugins are provided within the 'off-the-shelf' install. And there many others that you can install, if you scroll down about half way down this post they are listed ==>> https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=118764

I don't know if its possible to download page counts from ISBN-search. There's a factory installed plug-in for ISBN DB, you need an account there to use it. There's also a Count Pages plugin, I use it - but only its very basic features, it may address this specific issue.

What I wanted to know was, whether it is possible to edit the metadata-infos that are downloaded from amazon, for example. I have seen, that it is possible to do or undo a check mark for existing fields and editing the metadata that are downloaded from amazon in this way. But, is it possible to add a new field?
Informations like number of pages are existing at amazon, but how can I download them automaticly?
Count Pages is not really a solution for my question.

@Vanitas80 - I think the reason you can't is that calibre does not, in its 'out-of-the-box' configuration, have a page count column in which to put the data.

And in its 'out-of-the-box' configuration you can't download metadata into custom columns - I think you'd need a custom-plugin to do that.

I just realised I don't even use the Count Pages PI to count pages, I use it to count words - sorry if I led you astray.
