uninstalling Calibre and re-installing

If I uninstall Calibre and then re-install a previous version will I keep all my settings?

Thank you.

backup, backup, backup

I would assume it will but I won't exclude accidents so better be safe than sorry. I know from experience that depending on the type/version you have installed, assumption can be the mother of all f'ups

e.g. there was a PortableApps version once and if uninstalling that one it would kill the whole Calibre folder, including global settings and if your library happened to be located below the same top folder, you'd also lose your books and library specific settings.

So again, backup, backup, backup

It never hurts to back up but doing a simple uninstall via the control panel and then re-install a slightly older version you will not lose anything.

Well isn't it nice that Kovid puts out his own portable version. Uninstalling any of the official versions has never caused any data loss.

I use portableapps for most everything but calibre. I'm surprised this occurred with one of their apps. I'll keep this in mind in the future if I ever delete a portable that contains critical data. Thanks for the info.
