No.
It is to support running phpmyadmin (a WIP) on the Kindles.
Which is a tool to interactively manage a (remote from the Kindle) mySQL database.

Although you will note that this build includes a "mini" httpd server also.

I was thinking about mysql-workbench but the thing is huge... if you have a better suggestion I'm all ears..

A great idea, but how will it perform? Can't recall the K5 specs on the fly, but I'm guessing you'd be restricted to fairly low-memory applications. Still, it's something I'd love to toy around with (if I had not returned the PW of course, but the potentials uses are many).

hmm... I was thinking about the whole debian on a kindle 4 thing.
AFAIK you can happily grip an etch down and that should support the 4 too...

Just a thought, should you ever wish to start mangling stuff from debian yourself.

the mysql-manager? or php...

TBH they would probably both need some serious love to optimise performance.

But I agree, I should probably release this, if only for the testing aspects.

Was attempting to make us a custom native one but...
https://bugs.uclibc.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6500

buildroot newest incarnation fails to build php-cli/cgi.

Maybe I should just build the one from the previous release. undecided.

Either, or in combination. As you say, it would either need a lot of optimization, or a stripped down version. That's not to say it shouldn't be done: Even a restricted, stripped down way of performing php/mysql operations would be useful.

hmm... fair enough.

I'll have another look then. see if I can dredge up something compliant.

Blame it on sleep deprivation, maybe.

Perhaps, ask Alice:

When you hear Jefferson Airplain in your head it's almost always from sleep deprivation, duh.

It's the distaste for PHP inherent in me. Of course, you're free to do whatever you think is interesting/usefull. I don't have to be part of it.
