Hi,
I am trying to get CC setup on the wife's tablet and for the life of me I can not get it to download the books to the MicroSd card. It goes through the motions as if it does, but when I look in the folder all that I find is an error img file. I have the path setup right to point cc to the ext card, but it isn't working. I have it set to /mnt/extsd/ebooks If I change it to a path on internal storage it will download the books then. I can move files, play mp3s with this ext card with the tablet with no problems, so the tablet is seeing the card, but CC just does not want to download books to it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. This is on a cheap Visual Land tablet if that makes any difference Thank you Mark |

Just a wild guess...
If it's an Android 4.x based device, I know that you cannot place widgets onto the SD card. Google changed that functionality for some reason (security?). Not sure how CC works/functions, but if it's a widget perhaps it cannot call any data from the SD card either? |

@snoozer: Do your other installed apps have any issues reading/writing to /mnt/extsd/? Is your device seeing it correctly mounted? Sometimes it's the SD card itself that's the problem. |

Everything else sees the card with no problems. I tried a transfer through Calibre with CC on wireless and it also acted as if the book was sent to the card, but nothing was sent. Seems to be for some reason the card is not being seen by CC. I even tried the card in my Nook HD that was in the Visual Land and CC put books on it. I am out of ideas here. Thank you for your time Mark |

Apologies for coming in late. I haven't been near a network.
CC just opens and writes the file using android system calls. There is nothing special. That said, to be successful, the path to the folder must be correct and CC must have privileges to write in it. If you didn't already do this, try navigating to the folder by going to CC folder setup, tapping the manual path button, entering a slash, tapping the create button, then navigating to the folder on the SD card. It could be that it's name visible from CC is different from what you see in other contexts. You also might delete that ebooks folder and ask CC to recreate it while in folder setup to be sure that the permissions are acceptable. |

When I get a chance to get the tablet away from the wife I will double check that I have it pointed to the ext card. Take care, Mark |

The path to my ext card is showing right in CC, but books will not go there. I even tired FolderMount and it would not work.
The tablet is running ICS I think it is 4.04 I am out of ideas here, everything works fine using CC and an ext card on my Nook HD running CM 10.2, so beginning to think it has to do with this tablet, since everything else writes to and allows me to move files to & from the ext card, but CC just refuses to do it. Thank you for the suggestions though, much appreciated Mark |
