NOTES:
Paper mode is elided and a few awkward selection dialogs...
using the native keyboard to negotiate the preferences custom variable creation menus is no fun neither but doable.

All in pretty nice thing.

Looks pretty! You compiled from source or ripped it from Debian? Assuming you used the source, did you try the Debian version? What changes did you do?

Aside from this, I see you have your 'fronter' extension there? could I have a look at that?

from code. latest sources. i could put together a diff but mainly glade .ui file hacking on this.

The fronter extension. right. I havent forgotten just been trying to find things that it works on best. also tried two different menu overlays that ive ditched thanks to screwy x handling. will share what i have if you want it.

Works pretty good and fast on my Touch. IMO landscape might be better for the scientific mode or maybe a smaller font as some of the text is cut off a bit, but all in all, WELL DONE!

The three little buttons cut off a bit of the text, but the problem is only their dimension, or their font only, a bit too small. Nothing critical btw... It wuold be good to keep numbers big as they are at least

(talking about Kindle PW, don't know on others... on the Twobob screens doesn't happens)

UPDATE: The buttons show better if edit->preferences->buttons, minimal button width:68, minimal button height:33.
If Twobob wants can make them default, but it must work also on kindle touch

An even bigger nit is to put the 0 button in the correct place on the keyboard.

On the standard (i.e: expected) ten-key layout, the 0 key is directly below the 2
This layout will end up with experienced ten-key users entering ',' rather than '0'

The required modifications were to two files.

This release should ALSO reduce the size of some of the troublesome buttons.
(but not all, those without labels are unaffected right now.)


Alternately you can use the complete thingy above without the button size fixes

btw.. the below suggestion worth looking into.. maybe could put into a readme.txt in the kual package.. would be helpful for PW users..

regarding the dot zero issue.. just looking at my netbook keyboard.. since it doesn't have a dedicated number key pad, the numbers are accessed by doing a function-numlock.. after which you press 7890uiopjkl;m,./.. and zero does come under 1..

Comma / Zero issue.

There are a lot more experienced ten-key users out there than there are netbook users.
Plus - the often ad-lib'd keyboard layouts of netbooks is hardly something to model.

changing these sizes from within (edit>preferences..) doesn't survive a restart..
then tried changing them in .galculator.conf file..
and then in basic_buttons_gtk2.ui..
still doesn't work..
