Virtual Libraries and multiple disks

Hi Kovid,
first of all congratulations for the release of caliber 1.0.0 (now 1.1.0). I have been on holidays and I have read about it on slashdot.

Virtual libraries are a good reason to have everything in one place and no more on different libraries (the only drawback is when a huge library get corrupt and you have to recover it). However, my library is too big. It doesn't fit anymore in any of those hard drives sizes available. I am forced to split it on multiple drives).

I wish to have a vitual library but Calibre does not allow having multiple libraries seen as an unique virtual library.
I don't know it would be easy or difficult to implement by I kindly request you to consider this feature.

A simple workaround could be to use the functions available in the operating system to combine two or more physical disk volumes to a big logical volume. In this way you can build almost as large disks as you want. No need to split your calibre library any more, and not even any need to buy new hard drives, if the old ones are healthy and big enough when combined.

This is done using a Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and/or some form of raid or striping for fault tolerance and better performance.
