I hate black and I'm not crazy about pink either

I really, really like the beige/white options available in the past Kobo's as way too many computer related items are black. They're harder to find in a dimly lit motel room.

I really like the flush screen of the new Aura but only black or pink? sigh.

Now, I'm the other way. I don't like white or beige, I think it looks tacky. A good, well designed black device can look really swish and classy. But there you are, everyone's different. C'est la vie.

I think we agree about pink though.

Just skin it or put it in a white rubber sleeve or book cover. problem solved.

There was a time all computer related items were white. Now every one wants something not offered. I can't argue your point, your correct of course....I'm just saying. I definitely like a flush bezzle, gives a more refined feel and look.

There is already a picture on the website. See http://www.kobo.com/koboaura#overview. I don't know how well it shows the colour, but I don't think it is an "insipid baby pink".

I didn't see that - thanks! In that picture it looks a bright coral-leaning pink colour. Quite nice.

On the pink version, what colour is the front bezel? The red Sony is red all over but the pink Glo has a white bezel? Wonder what this one will be?

I'm not in the market, but yeah, color choice did not thrill me either. I like white e-reader devices, they don't tend to show fingerprints as much and make the bezel seem more like book page margins.

Plus, hubby usually goes for black, so I can get my white and it's easy to see whose device is whose.

Further, seems it cuts sales options, most guys aren't going to go for pink and only some women will. Seems like it would be better to offer more gender neutral choices. But what do I know, maybe they've had tons of requests for pink.

Looks like it's black: (from futureshop.ca), and IMHO, much better than a white bezel. I quite like the look of that. Looking forward to seeing one in the flesh!

Thanks for finding this picture.

It looks as though I'll be sticking to the black then as only a coloured back will be of no interest to me whatsoever, once I've put on the ultra slim case I'm hoping will be available - eventually.

It's a pity as I was planning on getting a red Sony, until the hope of it being front lit died, and my next choice would have been a white Aura (6" not HD) as I really don't like the black bezel. Oh well, if I wasn't so desperate to get rid of my Paperwhite I'd probably wait another year, as it is I suppose it will have to be black again. (BTW I'm not keen on skins, just in case anyone suggests them.)

I wonder if this screen might not be so fragile as the previous incarnations. Any ideas anyone?

I agree, a white color device is more fingerprint friendly.

Looking at the pictures of the new Aura 6" I noticed that the bezel has a glossy coating probably to give it a more premium look and feel. And I must admit it sure looks good.
A glossy coating - especially when its black - will give more light reflections compared to a more matte coating and therefore traces of fingerprints are more visible.
But lets wait for the user experiences regarding possible fingerprint issues.
