Suggestions?

Amazing that Calibre is now 1.0

Happy 7th Birthday to Calibre.

Thanks again for all the work and it truly looks amazing.

If i may offer just a few critiques. At the top where the virtual library tabs are. Once you're filled out the row you get an arrow to go left or right (both at the top right corner). Intuitively it would be easier to have the right one on the right side instead of both together? Maybe its just me but i go to the right with the cursor and ... back to the left to go right.

Second, I would love in the background section for the cover grid have a default button to return to the gray, in case i go just a bit wild with the color.

And third, again intuitively the way the buttons are arranged at the bottom with the tag browser far left (as it is on the screen) then the cover browser in the middle (as it would appear once pressed) and finally the Book details on the far right (again as it would appear once pressed). Putting the grid now to the far right feels a bit off? As it is a function much like the cover browser could it maybe be shifted over a button? Small change i know but those things make it seem so much more recognizable, at least to myself.

I also pause to ask myself in cover grid view, there is no longer a way to easily sort like we had in the list view (yes, we could shift back to list view, sort then back to grid view). Could there be a hotkey or something to make that top column list popup to sort then hide or something? (EDIT: TheDucks just pointed out to me this feature with the right click, Thank you)

Just throwing things out and see if any others agree. Again thank you for your work and everyone who has contributed.

EDIT: Whoever it was that mentioned that grid view and virtual library tabs combined is amazing was so right.

To Sort: Right click (see the Green triangle?)

@ParadiseLost: Sure I'll add a restore color button and move the cover grid button tot he middle (I agree it makes more sense there).

The arrows on the tab bar are controlled by QT and cant be changed without re-implementing the entire tab bar widget, which is too much work.

Well with those two replies i am an even happier user!! Thanks for your consideration. I guess ill suck it up about the arrows to slide the tabs... but i don't have to like it :P Thanks again to you both... i'm just sitting here checking out options and such. Super excited.

I would like to see the sort by menu in the list view as well? I have a lot of custom columns and wouldly use a grid view.

Maybe it can be done and I am just to dumb to see it

No big deal, as it is easy to switch to grid view and sort then back again.

Go to preferences->toolbars and add the sort by action to the context menu for books in the calibre library.
