Glo Cant get book onto my Kobo Glo

Today I took advantage of a Kobo discount code and bought Sweet Justice: Selected Short Stories from the 2000 AD and Judge Dredd Annuals.

I purchased it by logging into the Kobo website on my PC via a browser.

After syncing the Glo the book didn't appear. Another sync and it still wasn't there. If I open the Kobo Desktop App and sync then the book doesn't show up in the Library tab.

But if I log into my Kobo account via a browser then the book is on the Purchased page, but not in the I'm Reading page. If I go to the link I've posted above then there's a button on the right that says "This Item Is In Your Library".

The "Read This On" section for this book says that it can be read on pretty much everything, including e-readers.

I think at some stage in the past I might have downloaded a preview of this book and read it on my Glo and then removed the preview. It's not showing up in my Previews on my Glo now.

How can I get this ebook on my Glo? Normally they just appear after a sync, but not this time!

If the book is showing on the website library in PURCHASED then you can move it to I'M READING by ticking the book and clicking the bookmark button. It should then download with the next sync.

Thanks Geoff, that fixed it!

Now, can you tell me what the little purple tags sticking out of the top of the books mean in the desktop app?

Also, is there any way to close the "currently reading" book in the desktop app? I never read in the desktop app and it annoys me to see this tab open, especially when it's way out of date because I rarely use the desktop app.

The purple tag is a bookmark. It means that the book has been opened but not finished. Adding the bookmark above is one of the ways to cause this.

I've never found a way to close the book. It should be whatever kepub you read last on whatever device or Kobo app you used. If you open a kepub on the and the reading position gets synced to the server, this should get picked up by the desktop app the next time it syncs..

For the open book in the desktop app, I tried going to the end of it and then one more page to close it, but the desktop app just opened another book from my library. Ah well, I guess I just need to learn to ignore it.
