Can't get series information to show on reader since 2.8.1 upgrade

With 2.6.1 firmware on my Aura HD, I could use the procedure shown below in Calibre to get series information to show in the library on the reader. When I scrolled through the library on the reader, if I had setup a book as part of a series, the book would show in the library as

Title
Series - number
Author

However, since upgrading the Aura to 2.8.1, any new series or new book in an existing series that I send to the reader doesn't show the series information, just the title and author. Series or books in a series that were on the reader prior to the FW upgrade still show the series information. I've checked the settings in Calibre, and they are still set to what was working with 2.6.1. The problem happens with both Calibre 0.9.40, which was the version for which this was working ok with the 2.6.1 firmware, and 0.9.42, which was released subsequent to the FW upgrade.

Procedure

Use the Series and Number metadata fields in Calibre to set the series name and number in the series for each book
Go to Preferences / Change Calibre Behaviour, under Advanced select Plugins, expand Device interface plugins, scroll down and select the KoboTouch plugin, and click on Customize plugin
Ensure that "Read metadata from files on device" and "Set series information" are checked and click OK
Delete the books from your reader and re-send them from Calibre

Has anyone else come across this problem, or does anyone know of a fix for it?

Series info is still working fine on my Glo with fw 2.8.1.

Remember that the series information is only sent by Calibre once you have disconnected and reconnected the device a second time. It won't show up when you first send the book to the device (it has always been that way though, nothing new in 2.8.1)

As GeoffR said, it is still working but is actually set on the NEXT connection to calibre after sending the books. And if you make a change to the series info in calibre, this will be updated on the next connection. That means that step 4 in your list is probably not needed. If you do that step, you need a step 5 to connect the device again.

If this still doesn't work, I would need a debug log to try and see what is happening.

Thanks. Another disconnect and reconnect has fixed the problem. I must never have noticed previously that the series information didn't show at the same time as the books were sent.
